After weeks of hard work, we finally listed the house last Tuesday! We had a few showings during the week and then a solid weekend of open houses where there were about 40 groups of people…a few originally came on Saturday and then came back on Sunday to measure things. A great sign! We have a couple more showings scheduled this week and then a Thursday deadline to get in any offers (crossing my fingers there’s at least one!).
It sounded like everyone was really impressed with the house and improvements we made. Especially when they went to the open house across the street to see what the house used to look like (same original model).
Onto the pretty pictures!
I love my red door. And my rain chain. The rain chain got a lot of action at the open house (Thank you Ring for allowing me to snoop)!
The new set up in the living room has been a bit…awkward to live in…there’s a constant race to the recliner chair. Don’t mess up the pillows!!!
The layout does help open up the space though. Look how big!
I really can’t wait to design my new kitchen though…it’s going to be even bigger than this one. With sooo many cabinets!
I’m going to miss my pinterest-famous bench in the playroom (wait, no photo!?! But it’s been pinned about 2600 times!). But the kids have really outgrown it anyways. No need for a bench in the new house! The staging turned out really nice here though. We just can’t touch anything.
The office looks so much bigger now with everything out of it. But, I miss all my sewing things. Buy my house already so I can bring them back in! And sew things for me soon-to-be niece!
Guess what? I’m totally going to miss my toilets. They don’t make these top flushers anymore. They’re so pretty. Jim won’t let me take them. Hmph.
I guess people loved Mason’s rug. Yeah, me too. But I’ll totally throw it in if you make me an offer!
There was a family with a two older boys that walked through. Apparently Matthew is completely spoiled with his computer setup. We’ve noted this. And will totally keep bringing it up every time he wants something else. And you can see the touch up paint on his closet doors. It’s really bugging me. Jim says I’m weird.
I can’t wait for a bigger master bedroom. I’m even going to get a sitting area. It’s going to be huge. With a walk in closet. WALK IN CLOSET, PEOPLE! My shoes will be happy. My clothes will be happy. I will be happy. Everyone wins!
And the new master bathroom will be probably as big as our current bedroom. With TWO sinks! Storage space! A soaking tub! A walk in shower! Can you tell I’m excited?
I’m really going to miss my orange tree. The new owners don’t know how many awesome oranges they’re going to get. Do you think if I left a pre-paid flat rate box, they’ll mail me some? Or if we knocked on the door around Christmas time? Too weird?
But, holy land we’re going to have. This backyard won’t compare with what we’re upgrading to.
Now to patiently (I may have texted our realtor a few too many times asking if we had any offers yet) wait until Thursday to see if we get any offers. We’re crossing all the things!
